Gathering Place to hold several events in honor of Route 66 centennial

TULSA, Okla. — With the Route 66 centennial celebration under way, Gathering Place in Tulsa is joining in on the festivities.
The park will host several events honoring the Mother Road including its biggest event, Route 66 Festival: Tales of the Mother Road. The event will have themed food, hands-on educational activities, live on-stage performances, and a Route 66 vendor market. The event will take place on Saturday, July 18 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The event is free, but they are encouraging you to go here and reserve your spot.
There will also be other events honoring Route 66 throughout the year movie nights, fitness activities, and sneaker decoration contests.
